Photographer
I have been interested in photography for many years and enjoyed taking pictures of almost anything. In 2009 I took a leap of faith and registered for a photography class with Denver instructor, Teri Keller. At that time I didn’t know anything about Teri or the class and had no idea what I was getting into. Thankfully I listened to the guidance I was given from above.
In the first class, I found that what I was really doing was taking snapshots. I wasn’t being creative and I didn’t have an artist’s voice. Since that time Teri has become my mentor, she has helped me find the area of my passion – the western way of life.
I am now capturing nostalgic and romantic views of people living in connection with animals and the land. I am strengthening my voice to show that the era of the cowboys and cowgirls is not extinct, and that there are people that still live by ‘the code of the west’. My hope is that people who view my images will experience a feeling of a sense of place and time.
Sherry’s work was shown at the Anam Cara Living Arts Studio & Gallery.
